Allstate asked me to grade their performance during the dry-in phase of my log home construction. So far I’d have to give them fairly high marks. Their vast experience in log home design and construction was valuable when I needed input on details not covered by the log home kit supplier. They were prompt and prepared when the logs were delivered, and their stacking and framing crew were very productive and did quality work. If the rest of my home construction goes as well as the early phases, I’ll be a very satisfied customer...

I would like to take this opportunity to express thanks to you and your crew for the outstanding job assembling my log house purchased from Southland Log Homes. Being a career military officer, I knew little or nothing about building codes, permits, inspections etc: however you took care of all that. Also, you're handling items that were not on your contract, i.e.…unloading the trucks hauling the logs and building material supervising the foundation, the roofing etc. Again, thanks for a job well done!!!!!!!!

Wow!! What a nice house. Congratulations should be given to Allstate construction for such a great job.  The outside of the house looks great along with the inside of the house.  Having a log home will be such a pleasure. I’m looking forward to many days and nights at the house. 
Visiting the house while it was still under construction I was able to watch the construction workers. These guys were meticulous in each building phase.  They arrived early every day and stayed until it was dark or until they could see no more.  They always kept their work area clean and organized and cleaned up after each day.  Their hard work can be seen in the house.  I was thoroughly impressed with Julie.  She kept us informed about each phase of the building process.  This kept us in the loop, and we didn’t have to guess what the next project would be.
Even when she was she sick called to keep us informed.  Thanks for such a nice house.

  I live in Pickens County and I purchased a home that was built by Allstate Construction. The house is well-built, both inside and out.  What is most impressive is the service Allstate has provided after I moved into the home.

 You see, I did not contract with Allstate Construction to have the house built. The house was built in 2000, and the personal situation of the owner changed, so he had to sell it the next year. I contracted with the owner in a second hand sale, and frankly, I didn't know Wayne, Allstate Construction or anything about the home, except for what I could see.

  After I moved in, naturally, I had some questions, so I called  Allstate. One in particular was, where were the satellite TV hook-ups located? The next day, Wayne, was at my front door, and moments later we were crawling around in the attic, and he was pointing out where he put the hook-ups when the house was built. He also took the time to answer any other questions I had about the home.

Last winter, the relay in my air handler went out. I didn't know who to call, so I called Allstate. Julie pulled the file for my home, she said the unit was still under warranty and called the contractor who had installed it. The next week, the contractor replaced the part and it was fixed.
The only problem I had with the home was a minor leak in the Florida room ceiling, which I noticed after the two bad rain storms that came through last fall. My wife suggested I call Allstate. I responded, Honey, the house is already four years old, I didn't buy it from Allstate, so this isn't their problem. Even if they came out, I said, likely they'll just tar over the problem. I could do that myself.

My wife convinced me to call Allstate, just to ask what Wayne thought the problem could be. I agreed, and the next day, again, Wayne was at my door, ladder in hand. Moments later he was on the roof. He said, the seal at the joint is probably the problem. He said he his team would be out in a week, "we will tear up the shingles, and replace them. No charge."

I turned to Wayne and said, "No charge? I didn't buy this house from you. I bought it as is from the owner.  I appreciate the offer, but you don't own me anything."  His response was, I understand that, but it bothers me it wasn't done  right the first time.  They'll be here next week.
As promised, the roof was fixed -- no charge.
Wayne, Julie and the Allstate team take a lot of pride in their work, and are confident it will stand up over time, so they stand behind what they do.

Kay and I are really enjoying our new home in Flat Rock; and each time we are there I think about writing you to thank you for making our dream come true.  The dream turned out to be even better than we had imagined all those years.
Specifically, I thank you for your attitude during the entire building process which was one of courtesy and a desire for us to be pleased with you, your company and your work.  Each of you treated us with respect even when we were frustrated with the pace of the project.  Now that we are in our new home, even that frustration seems far away and insignificant.
We were always pleased with the work that was done by your crew and I still marvel a their skill and dedication.  I miss seeing them and watching them do their creative work.  You are most fortunate to have them on your team.
While we are glad to be on this side of the building process, we also miss our almost daily contact with your as a staff; your good nature, humor, expertise, problem solving and genuine interest in us a people, as well as customers.  We wish your company well as you continue to provide a quality product for other folk.  Please visit us when you are in the Flat Rock area.

At the moment we are sitting in our glorious new home thanks to Allstate Log Homes. The construction went smoothly and for us it was also a relatively painless process. Wayne Gathings is a cheerful and fun guy to work with. He is innovative, creative, honest, and hardworking. His workers and support staff also made this project fun and for the most part, run on time. Many in our family have built houses with other contractors, and they all told us how horrible the process would be. We saw many of the pitfalls that they dealt with and were prepared for the worst, however, no such problems ever materialized during our construction. Beyond all measure, we would recommend Allstate Log Homes to anyone building a home. We are even recommending them to family, and I'm sure that you know the issues that can arise there.

We recently purchased a Southland Log Home Kit. My plans were to put it together myself, but after looking at the blueprints and seeing how time consuming it would be, I called Southland Log Homes, and they gave me Wayne's phone number. The day after talking with Wayne, he met me at the house site. We agreed to a price, and he told me they could start as soon as my logs arrived. The day after my logs arrived, Wayne's guys and Wayne himself were on the job working and standing log walls. I was amazed at how fast everything was going. I enjoyed these guys so much that I stayed out on the job with them, watching and sometimes helping "probably getting in their way" most every day. I was very satisfied with the job that they did and the timely manner that it was done in. We are enjoying our new home and contracting with Allstate Log Homes was a pleasure. If I was to build another home tomorrow, I would not hesitate calling Wayne.

Just a quick note to update you on our progress going into the new year.
First, Jan and I would like to pass on our thanks for the excellent work you have done for us. Being both the owner and builder we have received lots of feedback from all of the other subcontractors we have used and they have all commented on the great job you did getting us dried in!!!
Second, please let Julie and your crew know that their interaction with us has been the most satisfying and professional aspects of dealing with Allstate Log Homes.
They were always cheerful, courteous, and eager to please whenever we called for help or simply had a question. We have done a lot of work so far - all the interior caulking, sanding, staining, drywall, and painting have been completed.
Most of the interior trim has been completed, and soon we start on the floors and cabinets.
PS: Our only regret has been the fact that we didn't hire you to "turnkey" the project.
We'd be in by now and enjoying your craftsmanship.

All of your people came when they said they would come, and wasted no time on the job. They worked diligently for long hours. The work done was of the highest quality and we did not find any fault with any part of the completed product. The project was finished ahead of the scheduled completion date; was cleaned up and left in excellent condition; and the extra materials were stacked and organized for us to use in the future should we so desire. Your crew actually did a number of extra things which probably were small to them, but were a great help to us, all without charge or a change order. When we did have a change order, it was handled professionally, and both of us had a complete understanding of why the change was being done.
The finished product is, without question, a thing of beauty and a matter of pride for our ministry.
     Mike, we would be more than happy to place in our lobby area information on your construction company so that we might give it out to those who inquire as to who our contractor was
(which has already happened on a number of occasions); as we would like for others to have
 the same pleasant experience with a builder as we have had.

Just a note of thanks from all of us for the terrific job you did handling our property on Wade Hampton Blvd.
When we turned the property over to you at the first of the year, I fully expected it to take at least 6 or 8 months to turn it, but you jumped on it with enthusiasm like I had never seen before and brought us a buyer in 90 days, and at the price we wanted.  We could not have asked for more...
